Tiopa Tlanextli is a community health center that provides care for the most vulnerable and medically underserved populations. We provide care in primary health, dentistry, psychology, and nutrition. We also have a cultural center with a library, computer lab, and music classes that is open to the community.
Tiopa’s name means Sanctuary of Light in náhuatl, an indigenous dialect. Tiopa’s benefactor, Carlos Santana, chose the name to respect the indigenous culture. On November 20, 2005, the first stone was placed and construction of the clinic begin. The clinic was opened on September 8, 2006.
